DETROIT RACE REPORT
The 12th round of the Monster Energy Supercross series landed in Detroit, MI, and inside Ford Field for this past weekend’s race. Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS riders took on the toughest track of the season with a pair of top five finishes in the 450SX class.
Blake Baggett’s night started on the gas as he launched out of the gate in his heat race and charged to a 4th place finish, directly transferring to the main event.
Blake’s main event started off with him charging from deep in the field as he rounded the first turn in 9th place. He put his head down and sliced his way through the field, battling to inside the top five. Baggett didn’t let off and charged to a 4th place finish at the checkered flag. His solid ride moves him into 7th place in championship points.
“I felt good tonight,” said Blake. “While I didn’t get the start I needed, I worked my way up through the field to 4th place. We will do some work on starts this week, and I’m confident we will get on the podium in St. Louis.”
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS now heads to The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO, for round 13 of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross series.
