HIGH POINT RACE RECAP
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS once again stood at the top of the podium at round 4 of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series at High Point MX in Mt. Morris, PA. Blake Baggett rode fearlessly as he scored his second overall win of the season to take over the red plate and championship points lead.
Blake Baggett was ready at the drop of the gate in High Point and backed up his win in Colorado with impressive motos for his second overall win of the season. Blake started moto 1 in prime position, rounding the first lap battling inside the top five. He continued to charge, finding the fast line around the tough High Point track and making passes on his way to the front. His excellent line choices proved to be his advantage as Blake set up and made the pass for the lead. He then gapped the rest of the field, taking his second straight moto win of the season.
Blake’s second moto proved to be more technical as an early first lap mistake shuffled him deep inside the top ten. He would then mount a charge once again, focused on the front of the field. His superior line choices would once more propel Blake past his competition to second place by the halfway point. Blake continued to ride at a furious pace, closing the gap on the leader in the closing laps of the race. In the end, Blake took the checkered flag in 2nd place and the overall win. With his solid 1-2 performance, he heads in to Muddy Creek with the coveted red plate as the championship points leader.
“Another solid weekend,” said Blake. “The track suited my style, and I felt great both motos. It’s great to get two in a row for the team, and head to Muddy Creek as the points leader. To have the red plate on the Team RMATVMC-KTM-WPS race bike shows that we are here to win this championship. We will continue the charge next week and look to make it three in a row.”
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS now travels to Muddy Creek MX in Blountville, TN, for round 5 of the 2017 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship.
